Argan Oil
Also known as: Argania Spinosa Kernel Oil, Moroccan Oil
What is Argan Oil?
A plant oil extracted from the kernels of the Moroccan argan tree (Argania spinosa), rich in oleic acid, vitamin E, and squalene.
Why is it used in products?
It's a premium moisturizing oil beloved for its ability to soften skin and hair without feeling too heavy.
Why does it clog pores?
Argan oil contains around 45% oleic acid, which is known to disrupt the skin barrier and penetrate into pores, where it promotes comedone formation. Its rich lipid profile creates an occlusive layer that traps dead cells. For oily or acne-prone skin, the oleic acid content is the main concern.
