Enteromorpha Compressa

Also known as: Ulva Compressa, Gut Weed

What is Enteromorpha Compressa?

A tubular green seaweed found in coastal waters worldwide, known for its high content of vitamins and polysaccharides.

Why is it used in products?

It's included in formulations for its hydrating and skin-conditioning properties, and as a natural source of marine vitamins.

Why does it clog pores?

This green algae forms a polysaccharide film on the skin that seals pore openings and traps sebum. Its mineral content, including iodides, can also irritate the follicular wall. The combination of film formation and iodide irritation makes it comedogenic for breakout-prone skin.
