What is Fucus Vesiculosus?
A common brown seaweed found on rocky shores of the North Atlantic, widely known as bladderwrack.
Why is it used in products?
It's rich in fucoidan, minerals, and antioxidants, making it popular for anti-aging, firming, and mineral-replenishing products.
Why does it clog pores?
Fucus vesiculosus contains one of the highest iodine concentrations of any cosmetic seaweed, and iodine is a known acne trigger. Its fucoidan and alginate compounds form an occlusive gel that physically obstructs pores. This is a major hidden acne trigger, especially in "marine" and "ocean" skincare lines.
